This Gajji silk saree is made using traditional Bagru handblockprint technique. Bagru handblockprint technique is practised by Chippa community from small town Bagru near Jaipur in Rajasthan, using natural dyes. Black colour (Syahi) prepared from iron extract with jaggery mixing for minimum 15 days in plastic jars. Red colour (Begar) prepared from ALUM. Mehroon (Ruby Red) colour prepared by mixing alum and iron extract paste in different ratios as per shade.
